G2 story
My wine Journey was ingrained from a very young age. Having travelled to so many different vineyards throughout Victoria, my earliest memories are of Giaconda, in Beechworth! I learnt that site specific vineyards were key to making great wines. Trips also included the Yarra Valley, Geelong and Heathcote to source fruit for our families wine label, The Green Vineyards.
Of course having a father who enjoyed wine, trips to Burgundy, Rhone Valley in France and of course Piedmont and Tuscany, Italy, happened frequently!
From these great wine regions the culture of wine was something I really absorbed as a young teenager and have grown to be passionate about.
I found everywhere I travelled I met people of the land. How rewarding!

G2 wines are focused on small batches to achieve optimal flavours, attention to detail and have a sense of place.
Farming Biodynamically has allowed me to discover that tending to the vineyard and wines, has an overall impact in the final drop. Adopting these methods in the vineyard contribute dramatically to making great wines. Therefore when it comes to fermentation, wood ferments are a key focus to contributing to my wine style. I’ve found that it contributes to achieving wines with great structure. It builds a lovely backbone in white and red wine and also supports the wines I enjoying drinking.
Sharing in similar paths of my predecessors is fruitful. Whole clusters provide my wines with a unique flavour truly showing their individual varietal characteristics and terrior.
Domaine Carlei G2 wines are age worthy wines, that are very enjoyable young and with careful cellaring are age, worthy.
